I went out shopping for art supplies today! Never let me do this alone. Never. It’s dangerous. I have added a list with the prices in NOK.

I started a challenge. This is what I’m going to do! ;v; Today I drew venonat, my favourite bug-type pokémon. Look at that cutie.
I also redesigned an old dragon-character of mine. She (yes it is a female) is from a kind of dragons who dwell underground, thus they have no wings. But. She was really long and smooth and slim with long horns. What was I even thinking? Eart-dragon. Digging. So I made her more buff, bulky, sturdy and whatnot. And now she looks super grumpy and I love her. I love drawing dragons.
Also, I got new tools! I bought these… paper-pencils? Not sure what they’re called. Anyways, I use them for smearing pencil lines, or shading areas so it looks more smooth. It rubs the lead over the pencil. You could do the same with a finger, but a finger isn’t that precise. I tried them a tiny bit on the colouring of venonat, and they work well. Especially on the rough paper I use.

I used Quickposes again, and drew the ones on the right side of the line. 90 seconds on each.
Then I went to the challenge with no timer, because I wanted to draw some better sketches. Those are the ones on the left uvu Quite happy with today’s results. Now I’m going to read and learn some glossaries in Russian c:

ok i tried something new
First I tried to draw an eye (upper right corner) using this tutorial. I had some trouble, considering they used blending pencils a lot and… I don’t have those.
Then I decided to look true fear in the eye and combine two things I fear: poses and sketching quickly. I found a website:
THIS FUCKING SITE LET ME TELL YOU HOLY SHIT
It gives you random pictures, and you can decide how many seconds you want for sketching the poses. I had it on 60 seconds here. It makes you practice on catching the flow of the pose, and you are forced to break it down into small pieces instead of only working on all the small details.
Some of these turned out reaaally shitty, but this is the first time I do this. I think I’ll try it out another time as well uvu

screaming because i dREW THIS
I edited the mouth a bit, made the hair more defined, removed some reference lines and then tried to colour.
Orange was used as a warm colour for light, and purple for a cold contrast. It still looks pretty warm!
The drawing was originally supposed to look more… aggressive? I don’t know, but I’m still happy with houw it turned out. The colours are much more smooth and vibrant in real life. I’m not quite pleased with the throat, tho’. I feel like the colours are not smooth enough, and itl ooks too rouch and… wrong. It doesn’t look like a proper neck :C

I am way too detailed when sketching. Just look at the second picture. That is supposed to be a sketch. Not only are the lines way too harsh, but I’ve added too much detail. This is one area where I need to improve… I need to learn how to actually sketch. I’m not finished with the second picture, I think I’ll try to work with it tomorrow.

Aaand here’s what I’ll be doing for my creativity. I originally didn’t want to do darwing, because I felt like it would be too much… work. It would take the joy I usually find in drawing away. I couldn’t find any better ideas for what to do, so drawing it was.
To the right side of the line are some warm-up sketches I did. And when I look at the mouths to the left I feel like I kinda… did a horrible job |D
I looked at this tutorial and tried to follow it while looking at some pictures online.
This is my school-blog! A lot of my art will be reblogged from here. However, there is a lot of school-related things there as well, so if you’re only interested in my art you can stay on this blog uvu
